Sonja Favors, PE

A Professional Engineer, mentor, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for empowering women and youth. With over 25 years of leadership experience in environmental engineering, community service, and nonprofit development, she has dedicated her life to helping others discover their purpose and reach their full potential.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Pumps, Pearls & Purpose, Sonja created a platform that inspires women and girls to dream bigger, lead boldly, and embrace their authentic selves. Through programs such as GLAM, LOTUS, EmPowHer, and Becoming H.E.R., she provides mentorship, leadership development, and personal growth opportunities that empower participants from the classroom to the boardroom.

A graduate of Tuskegee University with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Sonja currently serves as a leader within the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. She is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Order of Eastern Star, the National Society of Black Engineers,  a community volunteer, mentor, and woman of faith.  

 

Known for her heart for service, commitment to excellence, and belief that every woman has a purpose, Sonja's mission is simple: to help others recognize their worth, embrace their journey, and become the person they were created to be.
